For our stay on Daufuskie Island, S.C. this time, we had booked an oceanfront condo at the Sandy Lane Villas next to the Bloody Point Golf Course. We took the Bloody Point ferry over to island, and their friendly staff was waiting with golf carts to deliver us and other guests to our accommodations. We stayed at Ocean Breeze Villa I, which if facing the condos (see below picture), is on the far right of the condo units on the top floor but set back. It was very large and airy, very comfortable and inviting and we enjoyed our stay. The unit came with a nice golf cart, and the condo rental management was quick and responsive to inquire about anything we needed. Here is their vacation rental link on VRBO: http://www.vrbo.com/501109
Our living room looked out to the beach and had a wrap around porch balcony.
The master bedroom is on the ocean side, with the other bedrooms at the back of the unit
The week of our stay we escaped the ice storm and frigid temperatures back in Tennessee, however it was chilly and rainy for most of the week on the island. But that didn’t deter us from walking the beach and wandering the island between the rain showers.
Finally the sun came out and not a footstep or person in sight! Heaven!
Wally golfed at Bloody Point and we ate several delicious meals with them. They had just started their spring menu so got to try some new additions. http://www.bloodypointresort.com/
Wally on the driving range. My camera batteries died at this point so no more photos of the course, but see my previous Daufuskie posts for lots more photos. https://busybeetraveler.wordpress.com/2013/11/04/bloody-point-golf-course-dahfuskie-island-s-c/
We lunched at Melrose on the Beach one day and both our meals were delicious. They have a nice dining room, bar and outdoor patio area that is usually busy when the weather is nice. It faces across the channel to Hilton Head Island. http://www.melroseonthebeach.com/
The highlight of my island exploration this time was visiting the Daufuskie Community Farm. I love, love, loved it!
Until next time!
