On our recent visit to Tucson, Arizona, we stayed at The Greens at Ventana Canyon, in a lovely 3-bedroom unit with a balcony looking out on the Tom Fazio-designed Ventana Canyon “Canyon” golf course. It was very reasonably priced and would definitely recommend for other visitors. Lots of other home owners had dogs and socialized on their daily morning and evening dog walks. We were also amazed to see a large javelina wandering down the sidewalk under our balcony several times during our stay!
It was spring and everything was in bloom and so beautiful! The hummingbirds were buzzing everywhere and the doves and Gambel quail and other birds created a spring chorus. Here’s some snapshots around the neighborhood of Ventana Canyon. I loved getting to see all the desert plants and trees in bloom.
The 18th hole of the Ventana Canyon “Canyon” course ends at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort beneath this gorgeous infinity pond. Wally played 18 on this course while we were there and found it challenging – his post for the day was “I hate Tom Fazio”. To get a tee time for a non-guest, you have to go through the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort. There is a mountain and a canyon course, and they are among the most photographed scenic courses in the country.
